Whether you're completely new to clay or just looking for a creative way to unwind, you'll learn the basics of wheel throwing in a relaxed and supportive home studio environment in the Berkeley Hills.

We'll cover everything from preparing and centering clay to creating simple forms like bowls and cups. Expect plenty of hands-on practice, demonstrations, and one-on-one guidance as you build your skills.

One-on-one beginning wheel throwing lesson taught by Lisa Fontaine in her home studio in the Berkeley Hills.

Pottery takes patience, and things can get a little messy—but that's part of the fun! By the end of the class, you can expect to make 3 handmade pieces. The pieces you make will be trimmed and glazed (by me) and shipped to you within 6 weeks.

No experience needed—just bring your curiosity and be ready to get your hands dirty. All of the clay and tools you will use will be supplied by me.
